Co-Curricular Record

So there year is pretty much over… and there were a lot of good times that would not have been possible without all of your help.  Now it’s time to claim some credit for all that hard work by adding it to your Co-Curricular Record.  To do that I will now bring you to the copy and pasted message from the CCR department here at Carleton… it’s pretty chipper.

“Carleton’s CCR recognizes your extra-curricular involvement (in student organizations or within Carleton offices), leadership accomplishments, community service activities, including your volunteer experience with our unit.   The CCR is a valuable tool for you to present to prospective employers and professional/graduate schools to highlight your complete university experience.

In order to add your volunteer position to your CCR please watch our tutorial video: http://cuskiandsnowboard.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=247&action=edit&message=6

Please note you must add this volunteer position to your CCR by Friday April 20, 2012 – if not you will not be able to add it at a later date.
Have a super day, and thank you for using the CCR!”

Just search ‘ski and snowboard’ in the search bar and it should come up.  Check their website https://ccr.carleton.ca/

We have some left over prizes from the year and we need to get rid of them!  We also need to raise some money for various reasons… mainly the hotel from the overnight trip is trying to screw us over.  So we are holding a raffle for a pair of ULTRA LIMITED EDITION (you can’t buy these in stores) UNION/CAPITA ULTRAFEAR! bindings (even if you don’t snowboard or they don’t fit you can always sell them).  We will also be giving away some other prizes such as a Sandbox Rasta Helmet, and whatever else we find in the left over prize box.

So here is how it will work, buy a ticket, $10 each, 3 for $25, or 5 for $40, then once we sell enough tickets  we will draw a winner!!

We will even though in a extra prize pack to the person that shares this the most times!

Tremblant Overnight Trip!!! March 9-11, 2012

That’s right, it’s that time of year again. For this year’s overnight trip is March 9-11. We will be booking 2!! That’s right 2 large condos just outside of the village (5-10 minute walk to caribou, ski in – ski out). One of these condos will be the party condo, which as per usual we will cram full of people and fill all the fridges with costco’s finest.

New to this year, by popular demand, we will also be booking a not so party condo, right beside the party condo. Which will still be packed to keep it cheap, but only to a limited amount so you can actually sleep and get up and ride in the morning.  And of course will still have a fridge full of Rockstar and costco’s best.  And you are welcome to party in the party condo too.

You must sign up for one of the condos for now, once these are full we will let people sign up for just the bus if they want to get their own room.

So the bus will be $40, the party condo will be $40, and the not so party condo will be $70, and a $20 deposit must be paid (which will be returned or put towards your next trip at the end of the weekend.)  We will have discounted lift tickets and rentals for both Saturday and Sunday at the regular rate of $40 each.

The bus will arrive at Carleton at 5:30pm Friday March 9th, and leave Campus at 6pm. We will leave Tremblant at our regular time of 5pm Sunday March 11th and get back to Carleton at approximately 8pm.

Collection for the overnight trip will begin this Tuesday, February 28th, at sign up in the back of Ollies, 2:30pm – 5:00pm.  Sign up for the regular Sunday Tremblant trip for March 4th will also be at this time!!  You will also be able to sign up at this Friday’s jib session behind the Carleton arena from 4pm-10pm.

If you have any questions email us at mail@cuskiandsnowboard.com

Super Bowl XLVI (Giants vs Patriots)

This Sunday, otherwise known as Superbowl Sunday, the CU Ski & Snowboard Club will be sending one of our two buses home at 4:00pm SHARP. Making the regular stop at McD’s/ the Dépanneur as fast as possible we’ll be arriving back at Carleton just in time to catch the beginning of  Super Bowl XLVI at 6:30 – Giants vs Patriots!

Learn to Ski or Snowboard

So we have had a lot of people asking us if we provide lessons over the years.  Well now we can, but only if we have enough interest.  So go tell all your friends that ever wanted to come on the bus and learn how to ski or snowboard to come out on February 12th.  We will have a learn to ski/ride package which will be $120.  This covers your lesson (2 and a half hours), lift ticket, ski or snowboard rental, and bus ride to the hill.  (Or $100 with out the bus provided)  Or you can just have the lesson on it’s own for $40.

We will only be able to make this happen if we get enough people interested by Monday, so spread the word.

Kinky Rail Camp!

Hey girls.  So as some of you may have heard Rugged Riders has organized an all girls snowboard park camp.  The program runs every Tuesday night from February 7th to March 20th.  This camp provides a friendly supportive environment for beginner and intermediate park riders to improve their skills.

And to make it all better, Rugged Riders has offered all CU Ski and Snowboard Club Members a $40 discount on the camp.  (You must have a valid membership card to prove you are a member of the club, say your Card Number, and Student Number in the extra info box on the registration form and you will receive a refund the first day)
